MILLBURY — The Lake baseball team opened the season by routing visiting Delta, 12-0, Monday in a game halted after five innings because of the mercy rule.

For the baseball team, Drew Tajblik pitched four innings, striking out eight, walking four and allowing one hit while throwing 76 pitches, including 46 strikes.

Caleb Tobias closed, striking out two and allowing no hits or runs in the final inning.

The Flyers scored seven runs in the second, three in the third and added two more in the fourth but needed just six hits to score 12 runs thanks to two errors and four walks by Delta pitchers.

Ryan Wagner homered for Lake, Tobias doubled, and Tajblik, Myles Lowe, Matt Perry and Nate Wagner had one base hit apiece.
