Rossford’s Reinhart qualifies for inaugural girls state wrestling meet

MARYSVILLE, Ohio — Rossford sophomore Noel Reinhart (22-10) placed third at 110 pounds at the regional meet at Marysville High School Sunday, qualifying her for the inaugural girls state meet next weekend.

The girls state tournament will run alongside the boys state tournament Thursday through Saturday at the Schottenstein Center in Columbus.

In the third-place match, Reinhart won a 6-1 decision over Springfield sophomore Meadow Gomez (26-13).

Rossford senior Kayden Lewis (24-10) placed sixth, getting pinned in her consolation final by Delaware Hayes sophomore Nalease Danzy (22-10) in 3:54.

In the team standings, Marysville won the first ever regional championship with 185½ points, followed by Hayes (160½), Findlay (132½), Gibsonburg (114), and Port Clinton (106).

Rossford was 15th with 34 points and Elmwood finished in a tie for 41st place with seven points.

Other Rossford wrestlers were sophomore Aliana Cliché (3-17 entering regionals) at 105, junior Liv Hussar (5-14) at 115, and senior Cydney Baney (8-13) at 170.

Elmwood’s only wrestler was freshman Lylah Gheen (7-2) at 110. Lakota sophomore Rilyn Wonderly (6-5) competed at 100 pounds.
