FOSTORIA – Fostoria-area students pursuing degrees in health care are encouraged to apply for scholarships through the ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital Foundation. Scholarships in amounts from $500 to $1,500 will be awarded for the 2023-24 academic year.
The foundation annually administers four scholarship funds. The J.L. Murphy Memorial Fund, J.A. Murray Memorial Scholarship Fund, G.H.W. Bruggemann Memorial Scholarship Fund, and Ruth Nichols Sollars Nursing Education Scholarship Fund, were established by former Fostoria-area physicians, nurses and their families in support of health care career education. Eligibility requirements are specific to each fund based on the establishing donor’s request and are listed on the application.
Applications will only be accepted online at https://promedica.foundation/fostoriascholarship and must be submitted by March 15. The scholarship awards will be announced in April followed by a scholarship winner recognition event in May.
In 2022, 12 local students received a total of $14,000 in scholarships from the PFCH Foundation.
