Titans hold off Bulldogs, 58-54

OTTAWA — Ottawa-Glandorf outscored Rossford, 16-12, in the fourth quarter on their way to a 58-54 victory over the Bulldogs Saturday.

O-G, the defending Division III state runner-up, ranked fifth in the most recent state poll this year, is 13-3 while Rossford falls to 14-4.

Rossford led 21-15 after one quarter, but the Titans outscored the Bulldogs 17-8 in the second stanza to take a 32-29 lead at halftime. The game was tied 42-42 entering the final eight minutes.

O-G returning All-Ohioan, junior Colin White, was 6-for-20 from the field and missed all eight three-point attempts, but still had 14 points, four rebounds and two assists.

Caden Erford led the Titans with 20 points, including 6-for-10 from the three-point arc, plus he had seven rebounds. Levi Unterbrink scored 13 points for O-G.

Rossford 6-foot-4 senior guard Garette Murphree was 7-for-12 from three-point territory and led the Bulldogs with 21 points.

Brenden Revels, another 6-4 senior guard, had 13 points, five rebounds, five assists, and three steals for the Bulldogs. Rossford senior Jake Morrison had eight points and nine rebounds.

Derek Vorst, a 6-10 Indiana State University commit, had eight points, eight rebounds and he blocked five shots, and Brandon Swope scored four points for the Bulldogs.

Rossford shot 47% (21-for-44) from the field, including 10-for-25 (40%) from downtown and made two of three free throws. Rossford had 13 turnovers to the Titans’ four as the Titans outscored the Bulldogs, 10-5, in points off turnovers.

O-G shot 40% (22-for-55) from the floor, including 10-for-28 (36%) from the arc and connected on four of five from the charity stripe. O-G held a slim 30-26 advantage off the glass.

For O-G, Hunter Stechschulte had seven points and six rebounds, Theo Magg had four points and four rebounds, and Grant Schroeder had two assists.
