BG STEAM programs start with Legos

The City of Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Department and Snapology of Perrysburg are partnering to offer STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) enrichment programs.

These programs are for children ages 6-14 and use Lego bricks to teach academic enrichment and social development while having fun.

The first offering will be Mini-Figure Mania, on Thursdays from 3:45 pm-4:45 p.m. starting this week through Feb. 16. All classes will be in the programming room inside the Veterans Building in City Park, 520 Conneaut Ave.

During the course, participants will play with a stash of mini-figures and create mini-figure worlds using Legos. Academic enrichment in this program includes engaging in topic-centered group conversations, practicing character development, then writing and presenting original stories inspired by the mini-figures.

This Mini-Figure Mania series will be $89 for residents and $96 for non-residents for the six-week session. Snapology of Perrysburg will provide all materials used for these classes.
