PERRYSBURG — Hayley Griggs hit five three-point goals and scored 18 points and Megan Gibbs added 10 points as the Yellow Jackets continued their winning ways, defeating Findlay 58-50 Wednesday.
Griggs hit four of her five triples in the first half as the Yellow Jackets built a 35-20 halftime lead. The Yellow Jackets were also 11-for-17 from the free throw line.
Chloe Kilbride scored nine points, Wrigley Takats scored eight, Ayla Turk scored seven, and Taylor Jockett and Kallie Thames added three points each for Perrysburg.
Rossford 51, Eastwood 30
ROSSFORD — In Northern Buckeye Conference wrestling Wednesday, Rossford defeated Eastwood, 51-30.
At 138 pounds, Rossford’s Joe Foels won a 7-6 overtime decision against Eastwood’s Gavin Shropshire. At 165, Rossford wrestler Justin Hire pinned Eastwood’s Josh Lederer in 20 seconds.
Rossford got forfeits for Andrew Frankforther (113), Caleb Campbell (120), Ronnie Hawkins (132), Ayden Wilson (157), Grant Eckel (190), and Logan Bieganowski (215), which was the difference in the team match results.
For Eastwood, wrestler Ian Reynolds pinned Caleb Beckwith in 53 seconds at 106 pounds and Caiden Maize pinned Logan Walder in 35 seconds at 144 pounds.
Eastwood wrestler Austin Maize pinned Dylan Eckhardt in 4:38 at 150 pounds, and Eastwood’s Connor Norton pinned Keegan Engram in 22 seconds. At 285, Eastwood’s Colton Oberhouse pinned Avontae Jackson in 1:51.
Genoa 49, Otsego 15
TONTOGANY — Genoa defeated Otsego, 49-15, in a Northern Buckeye Conference wrestling match Wednesday.
At 138 pounds, Otsego wrestler Caeden Henderson pinned Genoa’s Christian Stokes in 1:44 and Otsego wrestler Lee Borders won an 8-1 decision over Luke Clement at 157 pounds.
Otsego wrestler Trevor Wilcox (120) won by forfeit, but Genoa had five forfeits won by Scott Fuller (106), Zayden Dunn (113), Luke Clement (165), Luke Erwin (190) and Kevin Ludwig (285). At 175, there was a double forfeit.
At 126, Genoa wrestler Noah Tipton defeated Otsego’s Owen Kasza, 4-3, and at 132, Genoa’s Nate Tipton defeated Otesgo’s Jake Limes, 5-0.
At 144, Genoa’s John Buffington won a 15-4 major decision over Otsego’s Carter Hartman and at 150, Genoa’s Luciano Mendez defeated Brayden Sadler, 9-5.
At 215, Genoa wrestler Ethan Crawford pinned Diego Henderson in 47 seconds.
