ROSSFORD — City council has approved the appointment of a new finance director.
Council unanimously approved the appointment of Chris Kirk. He is new to Rossford, but received a good recommendation from City Administrator Allyson Murray, who he worked with him at North Baltimore while she was village administrator there.
“He was the finance director for TARTA. Previously, he served with Allyson in North Baltimore,” Mayor Neil MacKinnon III said. “He is familiar with Wood County and Rex Huffman, with the port authority, and he has served on multiple boards.”
Kirk most recently left the Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority, where he was a financial analyst. He worked with Murray for at least three years as fiscal officer at North Baltimore. Between the two jobs, he held a position at Ohio State University. He was there for three years doing budgetary analysis over a portfolio of more than 100 funds.
“I worked with Chris for at least three years, and highly recommend him,” Murray said in a followup interview.
Kirk replaces Kelly O’Boyle, who has taken the general manager position at the Stranahan Theater and Great Hall in Toledo
