Sylvia Ellen (Schrader) Feather, age 82, of Grand Rapids, Ohio passed away suddenly on December 16, 2022, at McLaren St. Luke’s Hospital.
Sylvia was born on February 2, 1940, to Donald and Martel (Burton) Schrader in Ludington, Michigan. On April 15, 1961, she married the love of her life Floyd Feather, who survives her.
Together they had 3 children: Christopher (Melanie) Feather; Jeannie Feather; and Timothy (Susan) Feather who also survive her. She is also survived by Sisters: Kathleen Harmon, Wauseon, Ohio and Ann Schrader, Ludington, Michigan; brother-in-law; Leroy (Marilyn) Feather; and sister-in-law Rita Feather. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws Fred and Mabel (Sylvester) Feather; brothers-in-law Wayne Feather, Glenn Feather, and Roger Harmon.
Sylvia had a love for God. She was secretary, Sunday School teacher, choir member, and prepared communion at Bethany Baptist Church in Grand Rapids, Ohio since its inception in 1975. She was an Avon representative for 30+ years and worked at Key Bank.
Sylvia’s greatest joy was her grandkids. She loved sewing and making her own clothes. She always made the grandkids personalized Christmas ornaments. Everything was made with the greatest love. She will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday December 20, 2022, at Bethany Baptist Church, 14070 Bailey Rd., Grand Rapids, OH 43522 from 11:00 AM until the time of funeral services at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Grand Rapids.
