Wood County Sheriff’s Office is a Light Ohio Blue 2022 First Responder photo challenge winner

The Wood County Sheriff’s Office placed first in the 2022 Light Ohio Blue First Responder Challenge.

The photo contest ran from Sept. 11-30, with just under 50,000 votes cast.

The Wood County Sheriff’s Office received 2,325 votes.

The contest honored all first responders across the state and the nation who never paused nor faltered on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001.

All award winners were recognized Wednesday at Hilliard’s First Responder Park.

The 2022 Winners:

• People’s Choice – Orville Police Department

• LE Category 1 – Wood County Sheriff’s Office

• LE Category 2 – Grove City Police Department

• LE Category 3 – Chillicothe Police Department

• LE Category 4 – Galion Police Department

• LE Category 5 – Mt. Orab Police Department

• LE Category 6 – Mount Pleasant Police Department

• FD Category 1 – Toledo Fire and Rescue

• FD Category 2 – Marysville Fire Division

• FD Category 3 – University of Dayton EMS

• Specialty Category – Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office

The Light Ohio Blue campaign was designed show and generate support for law enforcement personnel who protect communities in Ohio.
