KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Kennedy White’s scoring prowess in Kalamazoo continued, but the Bowling Green State University women’s soccer team had to settle for a 2-2 draw with Western Michigan University on Sunday. The Mid-American Conference matchup was held at the WMU Soccer Complex.

White scored both goals for the Falcons (2-3-3, 0-0-2 MAC), and the Michigan native has scored four goals in her three career matches – all on the road – vs. Western.

But, Jenna Blackburn scored one goal and set up another for the Broncos (1-4-4, 1-0-1 MAC).

For the second-straight MAC match, the Falcons fell behind twice, but battled back from 1-0 and 2-1 deficits to earn a draw.

Lili Berg made four saves in goal for the Falcons, while Hannah Sargent was credited with three stops for the Broncos.

Kennedy White scored both BGSU goals on Sunday. She now has team-leading totals of six goals and 12 points, and has scored two-thirds of the Falcons’ goals this season.

White has played three career matches against Western Michigan – with all three contests taking place in Kalamazoo – and has scored four goals vs. the Broncos. White had the game-winning goal as both a freshman (Oct. 27, 2019) and a junior (Sept. 23, 2021) vs. Western. BGSU did not face the Broncos in her sophomore season.

White has scored six goals over the last five matches.

Brynn Gardner had the assist on White’s first goal on Sunday. For Gardner, it was her team-leading third assist of the season. She now has seven points to rank second on the team in scoring.

Alaina Uncapher, like Gardner, is a freshman from Anthony Wayne High School; she made her first career start in Sunday’s WMU match.

Uncapher picked up her second assist of the season, and her second in as many matches, with the helper on White’s second goal Sunday. Uncapher had her first collegiate point on Thursday, with an assist on a Gardner goal.

The Falcons will return to Michigan for a Thursday matchup with Central Michigan. First touch is set for 7 p.m. at the CMU Soccer Complex.

They host Ball State Sunday, with that match set for a 1 p.m. start at Cochrane Stadium.
