BG man faces domestic violence, assault charges

A Bowling Green man remained in jail this morning after his arrest on domestic violence and multiple
other charges following what police are calling call a violent incident on Fairview Avenue Thursday.
Craig Gibson, 24, is scheduled to appear for a preliminary court hearing this morning.
Bowling Green Police Deputy Chief Tony Hetrick said this morning that Gibson allegedly engaged in an
attack of a woman at a residence in the 1000 block of Fairview. A child was also present.
Gibson at one point dragged the woman into a bathroom and physically assaulted her, additionally causing
damage in the bathroom. During the incident, Gibson also allegedly choked the woman to unconsciousness.

He also reportedly took her cell phone and prevented her from calling the authorities.
The woman eventually was able to escape the residence and call police from a neighbor’s home.
Gibson was charged with domestic violence, felonious assault, disrupting public service, and criminal
damaging.
