BG Police investigating many holiday break-ins

Police were called to investigate a series of six apartment break-ins in Bowling Green on Christmas Eve.

While the unknown subjects are ransacking the apartments, they don’t appear to be taking items usually
stolen during such incidents – similar to another burglary reported earlier this week.
Dep. Police Chief Tony Hetrick said this morning that one apartment was found entered in the 2000 block
of Napoleon Road at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. The door had been forced open.
Hetrick said offices were unable to tell if items had actually been taken, but noted that some items of
value usually stolen during break-ins had been left alone.
Five other apartments were broken into in the 400 block of East Merry Street that day also. Hetrick said
that, again, drawers were opened and items were moved in those apartments, but nothing of value seemed
to have been stolen.
"They’re not really taking any what we’d call expensive property or anything like that. They’ve left
stuff of value behind."
Hetrick stated the possibility that the subjects involved may be searching for cash.
