Sylvan Learning offers STEM camp, holiday food drive

The push for science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) programs is as prevalent as ever and
crucial to the success and growth of youth.
Sylvan Learning is giving children that edge of these necessary skills by implementing STEM programs into
their array of educational services. From Dec. 29-31, Sylvan will be kicking off their STEM programs by
offering a three day robotics camp at their five main locations – locally at 7131 Spring Meadows Dr. W,
Suite E, Holland; 1039 Haskins Road, Unit D, Bowling Green; and 1781 Tiffin Ave., Findlay.
During the month of December, Sylvan will be hosting a food drive at their five main locations to benefit
the Toledo North-western Ohio Food Bank and the West Ohio Food Bank. For every five non-perishable food
items or toiletries brought to the main Sylvan Learning locations, patrons will receive an entry into a
drawing for the chance to win one free robotics, coding or math edge class for their child. Urgently
needed food items include peanut butter, cereal, saltine crackers, spaghetti sauce, tomato sauce,
ravioli and toiletries.
In the new STEM robotics courses, kids will build and program robots. Youngsters will complete hands-on
projects building Lego robots and learning the programming to animate their robotic creations.
Call any main locations and register for the three day robotics camp.
