BGSU gymnastics adds assistant coach
Bowling Green State University gymnastics coach Kerrie Turner announced the hiring of Jason Bauer as an
assistant gymnastics coach Wednesday.
Bauer, who was an assistant at Rutgers from 1997-2000, most recently coached level nine and 10 gymnastics
at the club level.
During Bauer’s tenure at Rutgers, the Scarlet Knights reached the NCAA regionals for the first time in
program history as they put together a 16-5 season in 2000.
Fleming to attend WBCA leadership workshop
Bowling Green State University assistant women’s basketball coach Jesse Fleming has been selected to to
attend the inaugural Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Assistant Coaches Leadership Workshop.
He is one of 40 coaches to participate in the event, which will run from Aug. 26-29 in Parris Island,
S.C.
The workshop, which will partner with the United States Marine Corps, is a two-and-a-half day event that
is designed to teach assistant coaches Marine Corps small-unit leadership tactics, techniques and
procedures.
BGSU volleyball to scrimmage Saturday
The Bowling Green State University volleyball team will hold its annual Orange and White scrimmage
Saturday at noon at the Stroh Center. The Falcons will play a three-set match.
Admission to the event free.
Tanglewood Golf Course to hold foot golf event
Tanglewood Golf Course in Perrysburg will be holding a foot golf event on Saturday starting at 4 p.m.
Course owner Tom Blanchard described the event as "playing golf with a soccer ball." Throughout
the back nine at Tanglewood will be an 18-hole foot golf course. The event is free of charge.
