TWINSBURG, Ohio (AP) — A northeast Ohio sheriff’s office says a man accidentally shot his girlfriend in
the head, leaving her with injuries that weren’t considered life-threatening.

The Northeast Ohio Media Group (http://bit.ly/1xtA1oi ) reports a relative drove the
20-year-old woman to a hospital after the shooting Sunday at her home near Twinsburg, roughly 15 miles
southeast of Cleveland.

Inspector Bill Holland of the Summit County sheriff’s office says the 20-year-old man accidentally pulled
the trigger while setting down the gun in the woman’s kitchen. Holland says the man thought the gun
wasn’t loaded.

Holland says a bullet hit the woman on one side of her head, went around the back and came out the other
side.

He says criminal charges are possible as the shooting is investigated.
