Number of fatal crashes in county is lower than at this time last year

The number of fatal crashes in Wood County is down this year.
Wood County Safe Communities announced that, to date, there have been 12 fatal crashes in the county –
four fewer than over the same period in 2013.
The group asks driver to plan on sober driving this holiday season if they plan on celebrating with
alcohol. Even if drivers have had just a small amount, they can still get a DUI and be involved in a
crash.
If drivers are "buzzed," they should not be behind the wheel – doing so could have deadly
consequences.
Wood County Safe Communities advises that planning ahead is the key to avoiding a DUI or a deadly drunk
driving crash. A sober driver, they advise, is an essential part of any plan that includes drinking. Law
enforcement actively looks for drunk drivers, especially around the holidays.
