John A. Winters, 88, of Bowling Green, OH, died March 26, 2014 at Bridge Hospice Care Center in Bowling
Green, OH.
He was born September 30, 1925 in Leipsic, OH to Jay and Zorah (Snyder) Winters.
John served in the U.S. Navy from 1944-1946, aboard the USS Wyoming.
He worked for Local #33.
His memberships included Sheet Metal Workers International Assoc. #33, Lybarger Grimm Post #441, Bowling
Green AMVETS, Wood County Veterans Committee, VFW #1148, Ohio State Association of Veterans Service
Commissions, Wood County Masonic Lodge #112, which he was chosen Mason of the year twice, and Grand
Council Royal and select Mason of Ohio Bowling Green Council #124.
He married Doris (Duncan) May 7, 1949. She survives along with sons, Jim Winters of Weston, OH and Doug
Winters of Bowling Green, OH.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
Friends and family may call Friday, March 28, 2014 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home,
Tontogany, OH with Masonic services at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home, Pastor Chris Boggs will officiate
Interment will follow at Union Hill Cemetery.
