PERRYSBURG – Way Public Library has announced the line up for its its inaugural TEDx event on April 12
from 7 to 10 p.m.
Tickets go on sale Saturday at $35 each.
Speakers will give the talk of their lives and share their innovative thinking and inspirational spirit
with event attendees.
• Greg Gage is a DIY neuroscientist and TED Fellow.
During graduate school, he co-founded a company called Backyard Brains, which develops lessons and
experiments to teach "electrophysiology" from middle school on up. Gage wants to increase the
public’s understanding of neuroscience, create a community of amateur neuroscientists, and usher in the
next generation of neuroscientists.
• Thomas L. Hosler became the superintendent of Perrysburg in August 2007. Hosler has served in a variety
of leadership roles both locally and at the state level.
Since joining Perrysburg Schools, he now serves on the executive boards of the Fort Meigs YMCA, Owens
Community College Foundation, Alliance for High Quality Education, Perrysburg Schools Foundation and
Downtown Perrysburg, Inc.
• C.R. Kasprzyk is a composer who also works with electronics, saxophone, video, and in
free-improvisation.
As a vegan, he strives for an intangible parallel between a cognizance of one’s surrounding and work
transcribed from (or inspired by) that environment. Kasprzyk’s work has garnered performance credits
including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Steinway Hall, the Experimental Media and Performing Arts
Center (EMPAC), and others throughout North and South America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Kasprzyk is
pursuing his doctorate at Bowling Green State University.
• Ken Leslie is the founder of 1Matters.org, a national nonprofit supported by John Mellencamp, Dusty
Hill, ZZ Top, Kix Brooks and others in the music industry working to house the unhoused.
Leslie, a formerly homeless alcoholic/addict has spent the past 25 clean and sober years building a
successful recruiting firm and as a philanthropist funding new programs designed to provide financial
and domestic autonomy for those on the streets.
