Weston Legion postpones turkey shoot
WESTON – Weston Legion Post 409 has postponed the turkey shoot scheduled for Sunday. The event will be
held Nov. 30  at 1 p.m., at 1276 Potter Road.
Ice patch causes injury accident
PORTAGE – One woman was injured Wednesday in a crash on Mermill Road, just east of Cloverdale Road,
southeast of the village.
The Wood County Sheriff’s Office reports that at 3:04 p.m. Amanda Taylor, Rudolph, was westbound on
Mermill Road when she drove over a patch of ice on the roadway.
Taylor’s vehicle drove left of center and off the roadway, striking a culvert. Her vehicle subsequently
came to rest on its side in a ditch.
Taylor sustained non-incapacitating injuries and was taken to Wood County Hospital by Mid-County EMS.
She was cited for failure to control.
Two-car crash injures one
One person was taken to Wood County Hospital after a crash Wednesday at East Napoleon Road and Manville
Avenue.
Bowling Green Police report that at 6:49 p.m. Taylor Spearman, Bowling Green, was slowing eastbound on
East Napoleon at Manville to turn, and also due to a stopped vehicle in front of her.
At that time, Yang Yu, Bowling Green, also eastbound behind Spearman, failed to maintain an assured clear
distance and struck Spearman’s vehicle.
Spearman was taken to the hospital by Bowling Green Fire/EMS with possible injuries. Neither Yu nor her
passenger were injured.
Yu was cited for assured clear distance ahead.
Holiday affects city services
The offices of the city of Bowling Green will be closed on Nov. 27 and 28 in observance of the
Thanksgiving Holiday.
The following route will be followed for rubbish pickup for the week of Nov. 24:
•    Regular Monday collection will be collected on Monday.
•    Regular Tuesday collection will be collected on Tuesday.
•    Regular Wednesday collection will be collected on Wednesday.
•    Regular Thursday collection will be collected on Wednesday.
