BG’s Parents as Educational Partners is tonight
Bowling Green school’s next Parents as Educational Partners program is tonight at 7 in the middle school
library.
The topic is “Special Education and Student Services: How and When to Get Help for Your Child.” This
special event will feature guest speaker Chloe Rothschild who will share her perspective and personal
journey as a student with autism. Facilitated by members of Bowling Green’s Pupil Services Team, this
program will also assist parents with understanding how schools can help their child as well as when
parents should seek additional help.
NIOT celebrates 6th anniversary
Not In Our Town Bowling Green (NIOT), a collaborative effort between Bowling Green State University and
the City of Bowling Green, will be celebrating its 6th anniversary on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the Wood
County District Public Library in the Meeting Room. People can attend anytime between those time frames.

At 5:30 p.m. Bowling Green Mayor Richard Edwards and BGSU President Rodney Rogers will provide remarks.

Attend to interact with friends and neighbors, reflect on past events and initiatives that NIOT had
supported and share thoughts about NIOT’s future endeavors. Cake and ice cream will be served to
celebrate.
NIOT was created, in 2013, to champion diversity and advance the mission of guiding and inspiring people
and the community to work together to stop hate and build safe, inclusive environments for all. This
movement exists to address acts of intolerance and discrimination.

Investigators seek tips on Lucas County vehicle arsons
The Division of State Fire Marshal’s Fire and Explosion Investigation Bureau is seeking tips from the
public regarding a trio of intentionally set vehicle fires in Toledo last week.
The fires occurred in the early morning hours of April 10 in the area of Woodfox Drive and Point Pleasant
Way when five vehicles were entered into. Fires were set inside three of the vehicles – two of which
were totaled and one which sustained minor damage. Items were stolen out of the other vehicles.
The investigation is being conducted by the State Fire Marshal’s office and the Washington Township
Police Department.
A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered by the Blue Ribbon Arson Committee for information leading to
the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the fires.

Safety Town volunteers sought in BG
The Bowling Green Parks & Recreation Department is now accepting applications for student
volunteers to assist with the 2019 Safety Town programs.
These positions are for students entering seventh grade or older. Complete an application and return it
to the BG Community Center located at 1245 W. Newton Road or email it to [email protected] by May 31.
