PEMBERVILLE — After a pair of scoreless innings, Eastwood rattled off at least one run in each of the
next four innings to beat Otsego 5-1 in Northern Buckeye Conference action.
Ashley Hitchcock allowed just two hits and sported eight strikeouts in a complete-game effort to earn the
win for the Eagles (7-1, 2-0 NBC), who remain unbeaten in the conference’s first week of games.
Hitchcock also drive a pair of runs at the plate, while Alissa Ray was the only player with multiple hits
for Eastwood.
Araha Burgy and Shelbey Spurlock, each with one hit, tallied the only hits for the Knights (6-3, 2-1).

BLOOMDALE — Elmwood rattled off a five-run fourth inning and clung to its lead in beating Rossford 11-0
across five innings in a Northern Buckeye Conference game on Wednesday.
Makenna Benschoter’s three hits paced the Royals, while Madison Hoiles drove in a game-high three runs.
Benschoter struck out to earn the complete-game win.
Jordan Babcock racked up a pair of hits with two RBIs for Elmwood.
Hannah Pierce led the Bulldogs (4-4, 0-2 NBC) with two of their five hits.

Lexi North spun a three-hit shutout as Bowling Green toppled Maumee 9-0 in a Northern Lakes League game
on Wednesday.
North struck out nine in the circle and also paced the Bobcats’ (6-3, 1-1 NLL) offense with a game-high
three hits.
Kylie Foster led all players with three RBIs for BG. Quinn Beeker singled and doubled.

GENOA — Lake overcame four errors to edge Genoa 6-5 in Wednesday’s Northern Buckeye Conference game.
Tatum Miller sparked the Flyers’ (4-4, 1-1 NBC) offense racking up nearly half of their hits. Miller
singled twice and doubled.
Mackenzie Mickens struck out seven and allowed five runs — all unearned — for the complete-game win for
Lake.
Genoa fell to 4-2 overall and 1-1 in the NBC.

HOLLAND — With the score knotted at three apiece entering the fifth inning, Perrysburg erupted for nine
runs across the final three frames to down Springfield 12-5 in Wednesday’s Northern Lakes League game.

Kylie Griggs roped a pair of hits and had three RBIs to lead the Yellow Jackets (5-3, 2-0 NLL) — who
overcame seven errors.
Hannah Hoverman and Taji Pickett both also two hits for Perrysburg.

PEMBERVILLE — Benjamin Gray tossed all seven innings and nabbed the win for Otsego in a 3-1 decision over
Eastwood in Northern Buckeye Conference play on Wednesday.
Gray, despite tallying just four strikeouts, allowed just the one run on three hits for the Knights.
Corey Hollar drove in a game-high two runs on two hits.
Justin Pickerel made nine of his 15 outs via the strikeout across five innings for the Eagles (5-3, 0-2
NBC).

BLOOMDALE — Jonathan Duvall drove in four runs and helped lead Elmwood over Rossford 11-1 across six
innings in a Northern Buckeye Conference game on Wednesday.
Duvall had three of the Royals’ eight hits and Caleb Plouck had a pair of RBIs.
Elmwood took a 2-1 lead into the bottom of the fourth inning before rattling off seven runs in the frame.

Hunter Broshious had the Bulldogs’ (3-4, 1-1 NBC) only hit of the game.

HOLLAND — Perrysburg used two explosive innings to stop Springfield with a 10-0 five-inning drubbing in
Wednesday’s Northern Lakes League game.
Cameron Githens singled twice and knocked in three runs to lead the Yellow Jackets (8-2, 2-0 NLL). Haydn
Smith and Devin Cavanaugh had two hits apiece.
Nathan Ball pitched a scoreless five innings, striking out eight and allowing just two hits.

Luke Roberts kept Maumee off balanced on Wednesday in tossing a three-hit shutout to lead Bowling Green

(7-0, 2-0 NLL) — who remain unbeaten.
Peyton Beaverson and Nick Foster both had two RBIs, while Foster and Micah Fry had two hits apiece for

Bowling Green’s boys tenis team picked up another match win on Wednesday, but it was not enough as the
Bobcats were topped 4-1 by Fremont Ross.
Mitchell Drumm and Luke Konecny combined to win BG’s first doubles match of the season with a 6-2, 6-4
victory.
Erik Schempf and Dom Meszaros fell 6-2, 6-1 in No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively. James Eddington was
swept 6-0, 6-0 in No. 3 singles.
Hayden McCracken and Jack Devine racked up wins in five sets, but fell 6-2, 6-3 in No. 2 doubles.
GIRLS LACROSSE
Perrysburg 21, Anthony Wayne 3
Four players notched hat tricks for Perrysburg as the Yellow Jackets shellacked Anthony Wayne 21-3 in
Wednesday’s girls lacrosse match.
Emma Carter and Lydia Knowlton led Perrysburg with four goals apiece, while Alayna Dunphy and Katie
McCullough both scored three goals.
Emma Chamberlain and Caroline Schoen both scored twice. Olivia Alvarado, Brooke Shaffer and Sarah
Olmstead each added a goal.
