To the Editor:
The opinion of our elected officials in Washington has sunk to historic lows thanks to many of our
members of Congress — people being big-talkers and non-doers.
We are fortunate to have a rare exception in Bowling Green, Bruce Jeffers, who is running for re-election
to city council. Jeffers describes himself as a centrist-progressive, meaning he looks to the future
while he currently responds to the real needs of people. He looks to the worth and value of every person
regardless of party affiliation.
This approach has repeatedly made him the choice for leadership in a number of organizations.
Jeffers is not dramatic but thoughtful — he is extremely bold in trying to reconcile opposing groups. In
this diverse, growing and changing community we need someone who can bring people together, not follow
the example of our national leader, who is bold, confrontational and divisive.
