A second bomb threat has been reported in Bowling Green.
On Tuesday at approximately 10:24 am, Bowling Green Police Division officers were dispatched to Panera
Bread regarding a bomb threat that the business received by mail.
The Bowling Green State University bomb-sniffing dog responded to the business, at 145 S. Main St.
Officers checked the business and nothing was located.
The incident is similar to what happened at Kenwood Elementary on Monday, in that a threatening letter
was mailed to both entities, said Bowling Green Police Lt. Dan Mancuso.
Both incidents are under investigation.
Police Chief Tony Hetrick would not disclose what kind of threat was in the most recent letter. A pipe
bomb threat was made to Kenwood.
He did say one difference was there was no return address on the Panera letter, while one — which was a
vacant property — was on the letter to Kenwood.
“We’re diligently pursuing all kinds of different angles on this,” Hetrick said.
Anyone with further information is urged to contact the Bowling Green Police Division at 419-352-2571 or
Wood County Crime Stoppers at 800-54-CRIME (419-352-0077).
