Honor military children by wearing purple

To the Editor:
April is the Month of the Military Child for the American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary and SAL (Sons
of the American Legion). We emphasize activities and events for the children of our military.
Monday is Purple Up! for Military Kids Day. Wearing the color purple is a great way to show support and
thank military youth for their strength and the sacrifices they make. Each year, the American Legion
Family encourages everyone to Purple Up! to show support of these kids.
Why purple? Because it is the combination of Army green, Coast Guard blue, Air Force blue, Marine red,
and Navy blue. So make Monday a special day for military children. Wear purple in their honor.
