Protect Perrysburg’s historic core

To the Editor:
This letter is in response to the story “Perrysburg approves $27.5 million budget.”
What is missing in city council’s budget and formal presentation of the “issues” is a clear description
of how the historic core of Perrysburg will be impacted by the line items in this budget. That needs to
be addressed, openly discussed in council meetings, and publicized, so the citizens/taxpayers understand
fully the implications of this week’s decision.
Is Deborah Born the only council member that cares about Perrysburg’s greatest asset, its rare historic
core? Why is it otherwise being overlooked?
I am a previous resident of Perrysburg. While living there, I restored an historic home on West Second
Street, and worked actively for the passage of the historic zoning ordinance. I am currently looking to
retire in Perrysburg and am very concerned that the city is being irreparably damaged.
