BGSU’s ‘Wolves” explores life’s big questions

Bowling Green State University’s Department of Theatre and Film will present Sarah DeLappe’s 2017
Pulitzer Prize finalist play, “The Wolves,” in the Eva Marie Saint Theatre at the Wolfe Center for the
Arts over two weekends, Feb. 28-March 9.
Set in the suburban U.S., “The Wolves” explores life’s big questions as experienced by a girls’ indoor
soccer team. Winner of the 2015 Relentless Award for Playwriting, DeLappe’s play offers a candid look at
the concerns of young women growing up in middle-class America, as well as at the ways in which their
relationships form, grow and sometimes break apart.
The play does contain mature language that may not be suitable for all ages.
Earlier this year, the Chicago Tribune hailed DeLappe’s play as a “formidably precise” piece of theater
that “is not just about girls, but about girls and their mothers, about how the adult world intersects
with that of teenagers;” whereas “we do a lousy job of protecting them … here, at least, you feel that
they are being understood.” Called “exquisitely orchestrated” by Time Out NY, “The Wolves” is at turns a
hilarious and at turns a biting account of young womanhood in the contemporary United States.
BGSU Instructor Emily Aguilar directs the production, assisted by undergraduate student Macy Bradam.
“The Wolves” features scenic and lighting design by Steve Boone, costume design by Margaret McCubbin, and
properties by Kelly Mangan.
The cast includes Hennessey Bevins, Hanna Marie Felver, Alyx Fisher, Mikayla Fitzpatrick, Erica Rose
Harmon, Hanna R. Hess, Rebecca Kuch, Lauren Lash, Nicole Line, Camila Alejandra Piñero and Mary Wheeler.

The production is stage managed by undergraduate student Kate Tayler.
Performances are in the Eva Marie Saint Theatre at the Wolfe Center for the Arts on the BGSU campus,
tonight, Friday and Saturday and March 7-9 at 8 p.m.; and Saturday, Sunday and March 9 at 2 p.m.
