WAYNE — For those who enjoy stepping back in time, they can now literally step inside Back in Time
Antiques, a new shop in the heart of the village.
Matt Bailey said he has been collecting the items in his shop for most of his life.
Most of his merchandise is priced to be affordable and there are very few high-end antique items. Most of
his merchandise is probably better classified as collectibles as opposed to routine antiques.
“Most of the items I have are $20 or less,” Bailey said. “I like buying at garage sales and flea
markets.”
He opened his store on Feb. 1 at 102 E. Main St.
Beyond his own merchandise, Bailey accepts items on consignment for people who would like to sell some of
their collectibles. The consignment cost is 30 percent of the sale price.
Items that can be found in the store include old advertising items such as a vintage Taco Bell dog, Smurf
characters, old kitchen utensils and cookware, clocks, paintings, furniture, 8-track cassette tapes,
glassware and holiday decorations.
Bailey also carries an assortment of hardware such as nuts, screws and bolts.
Bailey also serves as a drop-off recycling zone for electronic waste, computers, small appliances, radios
and other similar equipment including telephones and silverplate items.
Hours are generally Wednesdays through Saturdays 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Some weekends, the store may be closed to
handle business at flea markets and other sales.
