Soil and water district holds tree sale
This year’s tree seedling sale from the Wood, Soil and Water Conservation District offers conifers:
American arborvitae, Colorado blue spruce, Norway spruce, and bald cypress; hardwoods: chestnut oak,
sweet gum, and thornless honeylocust; wildlife shrubs: red osier dogwood, American plum, and buttonbush.

Prices range from $10-$12 per packet of 10.
The order and payment deadline is Feb. 28. Order forms are available on the website at www.woodswcd.com,
on Facebook, or at the district office, 1616 E. Wooster St. (Greenwood Centre – The Courtyard).
Gleaners to reward local organizations
Portage Center Arbor #524 will be having a get-together on Saturday at Hope Lutheran Church, 13507
Cloverdale Road, starting at 2 p.m. Before the meeting there will be ice cream and desserts.
The Gleaners will gives out checks to different organizations in the area. Twenty-one were invited to
attend. The Gleaners will explain what the group is about and what it is doing in the community. Three
people who have done a lot of volunteer work in the area will be introduced.
The public is invited to attend.
