More than 700 pilgrims from the Diocese of Toledo, including Bishop Daniel E. Thomas, were expected to
take part in the Annual March for Life in Washington, D.C., today to promote respect and protection for
all human life from conception to natural death.
This annual march commemorates the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision in 1973 which legalized abortion on
demand in our country. Since that decision there have been nearly 60 million abortions in our nation.

“We march so that our country will see a day when every single life, born and unborn, will enjoy the
first fundamental right: the right to life,” reads the diocescan release.
