Prep Roundup: Schmeltz scores 1,000th point in Eastwood win

Eastwood junior Jamie Schmeltz scored her 1,000th career point as the Eagles cruised past Fostoria 76-47
in a Northern Buckeye Conference game Thursday night.
Schmeltz scored a game-high 26 points in the contest, surpassing the 1,000-point mark early in the third
quarter. She is the 10th girls player in Eastwood history to reach the milestone. She accomplished the
feat in 52 career games.
Eastwood, 13-2 overall and 7-2 in the NBC, stormed out to a 23-4 lead after the first quarter and never
looked back.
Jaylee Souder added 11 points for the Eagles. Nine different players scored for Eastwood.
Fostoria is 2-12 overall and 1-8 in the NBC.

Rossford 45, Genoa 21
In Genoa, Rossford dominated in the second half as it remained in first place in the NBC.
The Bulldogs led 22-13 at halftime and outscored Genoa 23-8 in the second half as they improved to 10-4
overall and 8-1 in the conference.
Sammi Mikonowicz scored a game-high 24 points to lead Rossford.
Genoa is 2-11, 0-9.
Otsego 43, Woodmore 33
In Elmore, Otsego extended its winning streak to five games with the NBC victory.
The Knights got out to a 10-5 lead after one quarter and steadily pulled away the rest of the contest.

Kylie Brinkman and Brynne Limes each scored 12 points for Otsego.
The Knights are 9-5 overall and 5-4 in the NBC. Woodmore is 7-6, 4-5.
