Perrysburg theater group produces new children’s musical

PERRYSBURG — Perrysburg Musical Theatre will produce “The Grunch, a New Children’s Musical” on Feb. 1-3
at at 7 p.m. at Owens Community College’s Center for Fine and Performing Arts.
“The Grunch” is inspired by “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas.” It tells the story of Rudy Grunch, played
by Reed Schwieterman, who is making his firtst PMT performance.
Grunch, a grumpy sixth-grader who always feels like an outsider comes up with a perfect plan to ruin the
show for the entire school; he’ll steal the sets, costumes and lights the night before it opens. Unaware
of the Grunch’s plan with his sidekick, “Mills” (Jacob Nahhas), Harper, (Katie Kleeberger) and the other
drama club members are busy getting ready for the musical.
The Grunch, as part of his plan joins the club and his aunt (Kaedin Cooper) who is a theatre critic from
New York decides to come see the show and her nephew. When his aunt arrives with the other theater
critics played by Eli Ziems Mueller, Lucy Buelow, Annabelle McKenzie and Scarlette Ratliff, drama soon
unfolds.
Cast members of the drama club include (Jayden) Sage Colon, (Leslie) Emily Pollock, (Chris) Aubrey
Bostater, (Collin) Raleigh Dushane, (Rachel) Luxe Thompson, (Robyn) Mira Zarobinski, (Javie)Lilah
Ortman, (Jamie) Jordan Nahhas (Allen) Caleb Widmer, (Isadora) Eden Ewbank and (Alex) Anna
Moser-Pfleghaar.
Drama club teacher Mrs. Woods is played by Carleigh Good and Principal Augustus is played by Calleigh
Dunphy. The tiny drama club members are (Pip) Sedona Seiverth, (Apple) Meredith Kulmatycki, (Tot)
Annabelle Bucko, (Ribbon) Lila Stover, (Prim) Piper Lipinski and (Daisy) Makenna Sword.
“Audiences will love the comedy, the fun melodies, and the upbeat message of the show,” said Julie
Bermudez, PMT artistic director. “Theatre enthusiasts of any age will enjoy this sweet love letter to
musicals and be reminded of how theater can bring people together. It is a delightful family show,
lasting about an hour long making it perfect for young audiences wanting to experience a theatrical
production for the first time.”
Tickets are available online @ www.perrysburgmusicaltheatre.org and one hour before each show. Tickets
are $10.
