Fleeing suspect strikes two police vehicles in northern part of Wood County

PERRYSBURG — One arrest was made after a fleeing suspect reportedly struck two police vehicles in the
northern part of the county on Tuesday.
According to a press release issued by Perrysburg Township police, officers were being assisted by
Perrysburg city police and federal agencies, who were taking enforcement action as part of an ongoing
multi-agency investigation.
During this operation, the suspects were observed in a 2017 Chevy Camero during surveillance. Law
enforcement officers attempted to stop the vehicle and take the suspects into custody.
The passenger of the vehicle was apprehended without incident. The driver of the vehicle struck a
Perrysburg detective vehicle and nearly struck several other law enforcement vehicles before getting on
Interstate 75 and fleeing northbound.
Law enforcement officers attempted to stop the vehicle. The suspect then struck a Ohio State Highway
Patrol vehicle on I-75 northbound near the Maumee River.
No law enforcement officers were injured.
Toledo police officers located the vehicle in an apartment complex on Manhattan Boulevard. The vehicle
was unoccupied.
The passenger, Filmel C. Williams Jr., age 18, of Brownstown, Michigan, was charged with money
laundering, forgery and criminal tools. He was transported to the Wood County Justice Center.
This remains an active investigation, according to the township press release.
