Kindness of strangers still exists

To the Editor:
It was a cold Wednesday, and I was going to Bath and Body Works for some items. I hadn’t gone far before
I slipped on ice and went down, striking my head.
Fortunately, two kind gentlemen helped me up and took me into the store. They got a chair for me to sit
on, along with some paper and bandages to stop my bleeding. The Bath and Body Works worker was equally
as helpful, bringing me a cup of water and finishing my shopping.
Before the gentlemen left, a policewoman (with 17 years in the force) came and also brought a lady who
checked me out. When I felt better, the two ladies walked me to the car. As I was backing out, EMS drove
up. I assured them I was feeling OK, but they followed me to the next exit to be sure.
I didn’t ask names, but I hope some of them, or friends and family who recognize the people, know how
grateful I am to them. We see and hear all the bad that goes on, but not often enough the good people we
have. I’m happy to speak of a number of them.
