Elmwood board meets Monday
JERRY CITY —The Elmwood Board of Education will meet Monday at 6 p.m. in the middle school media center.

On the agenda is the extension of four administrative contracts.
PJHS sends 21 to OMEA honor band
PERRYSBURG — Perrysburg Junior High School Band had 21 students accepted to the Ohio Music Education
Association District 1 Junior High Honor Band. That puts Perrysburg first out of the 32 schools that had
students audition. It is also a record number of students accepted from the school.
PJHS Band makes up roughly 20 percent of this year’s honor band.
To audition for this honors ensemble, students prepared two musical excerpts given out by OMEA and then
recorded them at PJHS. Once all of the recordings were made, they were sent to OMEA adjudicators. These
adjudicators ranked the recordings from all of the schools, accepting the top players on each of the
instruments.
