Glenn Raymond Hecox

Glenn Raymond Hecox, age 77, a proud resident of Walbridge for 52 years, passed away Tuesday,
September 10, 2013, in Hospice of Northwest Ohio Perrysburg.He was on born November 12, 1935, in Toledo,
to Frank and Mildred (Ehlert) Hecox Sr. On April 4, 1959, he married the former Doris Screptock.Glenn
delivered the Times and the Toledo Blade Newspaper and worked for Chase Bag Co. before going to work as
an Inspector for Textile Leather, where he retired after 34 years.Glenn was an instrumental part of his
community. He was involved with the inception of Railway Park, helped build the present block building
at Loop Park, was involved in the organization of Walbridge-Fest, was a past treasure for the Walbridge
Baseball Association and Walbridge-Fest Inc., and coached girls softball for a number of years.Glenn
enjoyed going to watch baseball and softball games at Railway Park and Loop Park with his friends,
Shawnee Sparks and Jack and Rena Devore, but most of all he loved watching his grandchildren play at
their sporting events. Glenn and Doris loved to travel and saw many places.Glenn is survived by his
loving wife of 54 years, Doris; daughters, Susan Caris and Sandra (Greg) Swartz; grandchildren, Heather
Swartz, Trey Caris, and Mara Caris; and brother, Terry (Jan) Hecox.He was preceded in death by his
sister, Carol Lea and brother, Frank Hecox Jr.Friends will be received on Thursday, September 12, 2013,
from 2 to 8 p.m. in the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 701 N. Main St., Walbridge (419-666-3121) where
funeral services will be held on Friday, September 13th at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Lake Township
