Ohio agencies seeking $900K from train derailment

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Local agencies say they are stilltrying to recoup nearly $900,000 lost in
the train derailment andexplosion that lit up the early morning sky north of downtown Columbus ayear ago.The
Columbus Dispatch (http://bit.ly/13PB0zw ) reports
that the agencies billing Norfolk Southern included FranklinCounty Emergency Management and Homeland
Security, the Columbus policeand fire departments and the Central Ohio Transit Authority.The transit
authority wants $605,397 for lost business and fire damage to its bus hub.Federalauthorities haven’t
determined what caused the July 11, 2012,derailment near the state fairgrounds. Seventeen cars derailed,
withthree cars carrying 90,000 gallons of ethanol exploding. Two people wereinjured an urban neighborhood
had to be evacuated.The explosions were felt for blocks and sent flames shooting high in the
