Columbus struggles with food truck regulations

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Unhappiness by food truck owners overproposed rules may thwart efforts
by Columbus to regulate thefast-growing industry.The city is trying to develop guidelinesfor the times
and places the trucks can operate on public property butare having trouble getting owners to show up for
inspections.The Columbus Dispatch reports Monday (http://bit.ly/19Br6SL ) that it’s unlikely enough
trucks will pass examination to fill 15metered locations the city has provided in the downtown area.The
paper says just 11 food truck owners out of an estimated 150 showed up for recent
inspections.Columbusofficials argue the owners of food trucks keep adding demands and won’tbe satisfied
with regulations, while the food truck vendors say theyhave to jump through too many hoops for not
