18 charged in alleged Ohio heroin trafficking case

CINCINNATI (AP) — Authorities have broken up an allegedheroin trafficking scheme involving 18
people, who are accused ofdelivering the drug from Dayton to Portsmouth in southern Ohio.A29-count
indictment unsealed in Cincinnati federal court on Thursdaysays the suspects conspired to deliver heroin
over a two-year period, inwhich they distributed the drug out of seven Portsmouth locations.
Lawenforcement officials said two of those places were motels.Nine of those facing charges are from
Portsmouth, while eight are from Dayton. Another defendant is from Lancaster.Allare charged with
conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute morethan one kilogram of heroin, a crime punishable by
