Music lovers have a new way to enjoy the tunes they crave through the Wood County District Public
Library.Cooperation among the eight independent libraries in Wood County now offers access for library users
to the Freegal Music Service, which features over three million songs, including Sony Music’s complete
catalog of artists.Freegal allows all the libraries to increase the size and diversity of the music offered
at each location with access to over 10,000 music labels from 65 different countries. The service, which
rhymes with "legal," allows borrowers with active library cards to download 3 songs per week. The
service also makes available free mobile apps for registered cardholders of the Woodlink Libraries."We
are very pleased that the Woodlink libraries could collaborate on this project," said Michael Penrod,
director of the Wood County library. "Freegal expands the concept of ’24/7′ library resources and
services – such as the availability of downloadable eBooks – already offered to the citizens of Wood County.
Freegal delivers great music, compatibility with lots of devices, and is easy to use. We all think it’s
going to be an incredibly popular service to county residents."Woodlink was formed so that the
libraries could cooperate on services and funding, making library service effective across the
county.Woodlink member libraries include Kaubisch in Fostoria, North Baltimore, Pemberville, Rossford, Way
in Perrys-burg, Wayne, Weston, and Wood County in Bowling Green.
