Restrictions at Ohio forest to protect resources

NELSONVILLE, Ohio (AP) — The Wayne National Forest insoutheastern Ohio is putting new
restrictions on activities that includecamping, hunting and boating to protect the forest’s natural
resources.A spokesman says an order signed April 30 is intended to protect both the park’s natural
resources and visitors.The prohibitions affect campfires, off-highway vehicle operation, camping,
hunting, boating and other activities.Ruleslimit campers to staying 14 days within any 30-day period and
prohibitmass camping involving more than eight people and three camping units ata site. New restrictions
also apply to alcohol, drugs, public nudityand fireworks.Violators could face heavy fines.A complete
