Alva N. Sidle Legion Unit 232GRAND RAPIDS – The unit interviewed candidates for Buckeye Girls
State before the March 7 meeting. Eight members were in attendance.Judy Thomas reported that the unit
had 206 paid members; goal is 223.Mae Schlotz reported on County Council. The Poppy Potluck will be held
March 25 at 6:30 p.m. at the Adams Post. Poppy arrangements musr be 75 percent poppies. The IRS is now
auditing the auxiliary books, which should have two separate columns showing what was collected from the
poppies and the general fund. The next County Council meeting will be held April 15 at 6:30 at
Whitehouse Post.A membership application for Candice Bucher was approved.Payments made were: Four
Chaplains, $20; Children’s Miracle Network, $25; Past Parley Presidents Nurses Scholarship, $50; ALA for
dues, $327; and birthday ball tickets, $10.The unit will be stuffing the poppy envelopes at the next
meeting, on April 4. They will meet at 6 p.m.The post fish fry will be March 15 from 5 to 7 p.m. Meals
are $9. The following month’s fish fry will be held April 19.
