WESTON – Michelle Hill certainly did not expect to give birth to Wood County’s
first baby of the new year for 2013.After all, she wasn’t due until Jan. 7.But her little bundle of blue had
a different time schedule in mind and his was the one that counted.Baby Brandon Michael made his debut at
1:50 p.m. Thursday, weighing 7 pounds, 2 ounces.Hill, a 2005 Otsego High School graduate, had arrived at the
hospital at 6 that morning."I was going to be induced, and when I looked on the (hospital) Web site I
saw there was, in fact, no other baby."That’s when she realized she had a very good chance of winning
"first baby" honors, after all – even on Jan. 3.Baby Brandon arrived by regular delivery, courtesy
of Dr. Ian Leggat.

Along with his proud mama, he is welcomed
into the world by two bigger brothers, Noah, 4, and Matthew, 3.Wood County Hospital obstetrical nurses are
getting used to having a three-day wait for their "New Year’s Baby."Last year’s
first-baby-of-2012, Corgan Wagner, son of Mark and Nicole Wagner of Bowling Green, also arrived on Jan. 3.So
did the 2011 baby, daughter of Amanda and Josh Giesige, Bowling Green.
