Fall performance series at Owens

Performing arts students and faculty at Owens Community College open "Creative
Noises Live" Fall Artist Series.
Performances continue through Dec. 9.
Managed and promoted by the College’s music business portfolio class, the series will
feature the accomplishments of Owens students and faculty in a number of
performances ranging from music to vocal.
All events will occur in the Center for Fine and Performing Arts, off Oregon Road in
Perrysburg Township.
Scheduled shows are:
• Today at 2 p.m. the Owens Voices will perform songs by W.S. Gilbert and Arthur
Sullivan as well as a preview of the upcoming choir concert, in the Rotunda.
• Today at 6 p.m. Harpist Denise Grupp-Verbon will present a harp concert featuring
original music as well as harp duets with Judy Riley, in the Studio Theatre.
• Nov. 26 at 1:30 p.m. Owens Plugged in Percussion Performance will present music
that blends processed acoustic sounds, electronic percussion controllers and
computer-generated tracks. Featured will be Michael Sander and Rob Ticherich, in
the Studio Theatre.
• Nov. 26 at 7 p.m. Owens Choir Concert will sing a wide variety of musical
selections including songs by Gilbert and Sullivan and holiday tunes, in the
Mainstage Theatre.
• Dec. 4 at 3 p.m. the Owens Jazz Ensemble will feature the diverse styles of jazz,
in the Rotunda.
• Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. the Owens Pop Music Ensemble will highlight an array of genres
ranging from classic to the contemporary, in the Rotunda.
• Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. Owens dance students and faculty will perform ballet and modern
dance, in the Mainstage Theatre.
• Dec. 9 at 2:30 p.m. the Owens Concert Band will present its Holiday and Tribute
Concert featuring holiday music and a tribute of the Tuskegee Airmen, including
former Tuskegee Airman Harold Brown, in the Mainstage Theatre.
