HOLLAND —Bowling Green exploded for three touchdowns in the second quarter Friday on
the way to a 42-20 Northern Lakes League win over Springfield.
“We made some plays, offensively, defensively, and on special teams,” BG head coach
Steve Aungst said. “One of the big things this week was to ‘finish the deal’
because we have been competing for the last couple of weeks. We have been
close.’’
Andrew Dennis had a big night for the Bobcats, going 15-of-23 passing for 318 yards
and two touchdowns and adding 11 rushes for 60 yards and two scores.
Ryan Emans made seven catches for 174 yards and a TD for BG. Andy Fisher was
successful on six PATs.
Dennis hit Quinn Donaldson with a 15-yard scoring pass to give BG a 7-0 lead after
the first quarter.
The Bobcats were up 28-6 at the half as Dennis, Trent Waters and Trey Loescher each
scored a rushing touchdown in the second quarter.
Dennis and Emans connected on a 54-yard scoring play in the third quarter. Dennis
rushed 11 yards in the fourth quarter for BG’s final touchdown.
“I’m real proud of the men this week,” Aungst said. “We have a great bunch of leaders
who have purpose, they just want to better.’’
The Bobcats, 3-5 overall and 1-4 in the NLL, play at Perrysburg next Friday.
Springfield is 1-7, 1-4.
