LUCKEY – President Rosemarie Heilman led the October uit meeting with 18 members
present.
Dues were received from Loretta Artino and a thank you from St. Rose Parish for the
memorial for John Ault.
Ruth Peters reported on Veteran Affairs. She and Ellen Bechstein served coffee at the
VA Clinic. Nov. 9 is the grand opening of the new veterans facility and Peters
is donating $40 from the VA&R account. She showed blankets made for
veterans.
Poppy Sales at Wal Mart will be Oct. l3. Two doors are available to collect poppy
funds. Two women should be signed up for each time slot.
President Heilman asked everyone present to consider serving on the nominating
committee since no one volunteered.
Treasurer Donna Rolf reported on the recent rummage sale and food sales at the hall.
Members voted that food sales income go into the auxiliary treasury and rummage
sale receipts be split with the post.
Shirley Davis thanked all who helped with the rummage sale. Coats were taken to the
VA Clinic. Joel Davis took men’s clothing to Bowling Green and items were
donated to "Grace’s Table" in Luckey. Penta County school has a floral
program and might be able to use the baskets. Shirley Davis reported sending in
4,397 coupons.
Heilman asked if anyone plans to go to the district meeting in Bradner. Registration
is at 8:30 a.m. with the meeting at 9:30.
The next unit meeting is Nov. 7.
