COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — A central Ohio woman tells a judge she
is surrendering 60 animals at her Orient home to the Capital Area
Humane Society.
WCMH-TV in Columbus (bit.ly/QCTg4m) says Michelle
Horn appeared in court Tuesday on new charges of animal abuse involving
four dogs and for a probation revocation hearing. Both matters were
rescheduled, but WCMH reported that Horn told the judge she was giving
up the animals at her home. She said they belonged to her son.
The
animals seized Tuesday included an underweight dog, a dog with hair
loss, frogs, a python, an iguana, a rooster, some chickens, a ferret,
mice and crickets.
The humane society said the animals will be evaluated for care in an appropriate
environment.
