Vitto Brown, a senior at Bowling Green High School, has made a verbal commitment to play basketball at
the University of Wisconsin.
Von Graffin, the head boys basketball coach at Bowling Green, confirmed Brown’s commitment Friday night.

Bo Ryan, Wisconsin’s head coach, was in Bowling Green on Thursday. Ryan cannot comment until Brown signs
a national letter of intent.
“To go to a Big Ten school from Bowling Green High School, we’re real excited about it,” Graffin said.
“It just shows the maturation of Vitto and how hard he has worked and how deserving he is.
“It’s a good fit for him,” Graffin continued. “Coach Ryan has shown through the years that he can take
kids that aren’t necessarily McDonald’s All-Americans and develop them and make then get better.”
Brown, who is now 6-foot-8 and 230 pounds, averaged 19.3 points, 12.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game
for the Bobcats last season. He has been a starter at BG since his freshman season.
“Vitto likes to play on the perimeter a little bit and he has a very good shot and coach Ryan encourages
that,” Graffin said. “Coach Ryan has seen the growth and maturation of Vitto Brown and hopefully the
people in Bowling Green will see it this year as well.”
With his college choice made, Brown can now focus on BG’s 22-game regular-season schedule.
“It’s been quite a ride, quite a journey,” Graffin said. “Now he can concentrate on making us a good team
and having a good season.”
