A Toledo man died Sunday afternoon in a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 6 west of Ohio 199.
The Ohio Highway Patrol reports that John A. Bognar, 76, of Toledo, was westbound on Route 6 at 4:47
driving a 2011 Hyundai Accent when he went left of center and collided head-on with a 2003 Dodge Ram
1500 pickup truck being driven by Merel E. Trumbull, 71, of Bradner.
Bognar’s vehicle came to rest in the middle of Route 6, while Trumbull’s vehicle went off the right side
of the road into a ditch.
The OHP said Bognar was pronounced dead at the scene.
Trumbull received minor injuries and was transported to Wood County Hospital.
Both drivers were wearing a seatbelt.
The crash remains under investigation.
