Gambrell, Nolan Gill and Josh Simler; juniors Kevin Connell, Brian LeGalley,
Judson McDaniel and Nathan Sell; and sophomores Michael Murphy and Josiah
Nichols.
Coach’s comment: "We are returning most of the team that made it to regionals
last year, plus we have significantly more depth in the squad. Most of our
experience is through the midfield and defense. I am expecting our young
forwards to develop though out the year to make a significant impact."
EASTWOOD
Coach: Frank Schemenauer, eighth season.
2011 record: 13-4-2 overall, 7-2-1 in the Northern Buckeye Conference.
Returning letter winners: Seniors Chris Baker, Derek Snowden, Kevin Sweeney, Joel
Black, Randy Caris, Jordan Luther and Ben Volschow; and junior Joey Salinas.
Coach’s comment: "This year’s team is coming together nicely. We have experience
throughout the different positions as well as younger players ready to step up
and contribute to the team. Our main goals this year are to be league champions
and make a good post-season run. Avoiding mistakes on defense and capitalizing
on our goal scoring chances will be keys to our success."
LAKE
Coach: Chad Lillich, fifth season.
2011 record: 13-5 overall, 6-4 in the NBC.
Returning letter winners: Seniors Austin Hall, Jay Staples, Marcus Pierce, Kyle
Perry, Miles Kidd, Forrest Bennett, Casey Blank and John Kline; juniors Jeremy
Likes, Nathan Francis and Danny Patel; and sophomore Cory Pierce.
Coach’s comment: "We have a lot of starters back for this season. We will have
to keep working hard and build depth."
OTSEGO
Coach: Johan Svanberg, 12th season.
2011 record: Unavailable.
Returning letter winners: Seniors Collin Austin, Gabe Fretter, Devyn Frost, Brandon
Marr and Josh Williams; juniors Diego Martinez and Josh Tremont; and sophomore
Micah Swanson.
Coach’s comment: "We are coming off a season when we played very well
defensively. Led by first team all-district goalkeeper Tommy Rodgers, we should
still be solid there. Much work has been spent on the offense this preseason and
the team has really responded well. I’m looking forward to see how far it will
take us. We have good depth and team chemistry which will also help
greatly."
PERRYSBURG
Coach: Mike Timbrook, 11th season.
2011 record: 13-5-2 overall, third in the NLL.

Alek Wood; and sophomores Spencer Kobylak and Justin Klocko.
Coach’s comment: "The boys are optimistic they are capable of returning Rossford
soccer to a winning tradition this season and to advance in the league to a more
competitive finish. Their goal is to be an upper tier squad with a winning
season. They are more confident and comfortable with the new option formation we
have installed. Hopefully, this will result in a more positive outcome by
seasons end."
