Northwood’s softball team totaled 26 hits Thursday on the way to a 29-2 victory at
Ottawa Hills in a Toledo Area Athletic Conference game.
The game was called after five innings because of the 10-run mercy rule.
The Rangers’ leading hitters were: Katelyn Napier, 2-for-4, six runs batted in,
double, triple; Kate Vancs, 2-for-2, grand slam; Cindy Szyperski, 2-for-4;
Allison Burch, 4-for-4, three RBI; Brianna Crispen, 4-for-4, five RBI, three
doubles; Allie Brisbin, 2-for-4, three RBI; Emily Murphy, 2-for-2; and Heather
Derr, 3-for-4, two RBI.
Northwood is 8-5 overall and 4-2 in the TAAC.
BASEBALL
Perrysburg 4, Archbold 2
In Perrysburg, the Yellow Jackets opened the scoring with a four-run second inning to
improve to 10-5-2 overall.
Perrysburg had just three hits, singles by three different players. But the Yellow
Jackets were helped by five walks and five errors from Archbold.
Austin Lee’s RBI single gave Perrysburg a 2-0 lead, and Mark Delas’ two-run single
increased the lead to 4-0.

In Perrysburg, the Yellow Jackets lost only 12 games en route to winning the Northern
Lakes League match.
On Wednesday in the Team Cup, Perrysburg lost to Findlay in the second round of the
tournament.
